Leave the conventional roads behind and travel by 4×4 through the mountainous landscape above Chora. Along the way, your local driver-guide will stop at panoramic viewpoints and introduce you to the island’s scenery, wildlife and local history.
The highlight is the scenic off-road descent to Achla Beach—a remote cove known for its clear emerald water, white pebbles and beautiful natural surroundings. Reaching Achla by land requires navigating a rugged dirt road, making the drive almost as memorable as the beach itself.
Relax, take photographs and, when conditions allow, enjoy time beside the sea before beginning the return journey through the mountains.
Achla is reached by a rugged dirt road suitable for 4×4 vehicles or by boat, which makes the guided drive a meaningful selling point—not merely transportation.
Under normal road and weather conditions, we spend approximately 1 hour at Achla Beach. This gives you time to enjoy the scenery, take photographs, relax and have a short swim. The exact time may vary depending on road conditions and the duration of our panoramic stops along the way.
Yes, swimming is possible when the weather and sea conditions are suitable. Please bring swimwear, a towel and suitable footwear. There is no lifeguard at Achla Beach, so swimming is at your own discretion.
The final part of the journey follows a rugged dirt road with uneven, rocky and occasionally steep sections. The ride can be bumpy, but you will travel in a suitable 4×4 vehicle driven by an experienced local driver who knows the route.
Achla is a remote and largely undeveloped beach. Visitors should not rely on finding toilets, changing rooms, sunbeds, shops or food service there. We recommend bringing a towel, sunscreen, a hat and anything else you may need. Bottled water and a light snack are included in the tour.
The standard meeting point is the Explore Andros travel agency in Andros Town. Pickup and drop-off from selected locations may be arranged upon request and may involve an additional charge, depending on the location.
