We had a wonderful time with the Explore Andros team. We were very lucky with our guide - Bill l, he is very friendly and positive person, he shared a wealth of information about the island and told us about island hidden gems. We trekked along the river to the waterfall and even went for a swim. Time passed so quickly, Andros is worth visiting more than once, especially with Explore Andros
We had a fantastic day trekking along the river which culminated in swimming in a beautiful remote pool at the base of a waterfall and jumping off the rocks. Our guide Bill was lovely, very knowledgeable and really made the experience special. Our children (age 12 and 14) say it’s one of the best things they’ve ever done! Totally recommend.
This was a full day of interesting discourse and exceptional scenery. From monasteries at high elevation to a stately marble clad cemetary, Bill kept us engaged for 6,5 hours. A busy trip with plenty of exercise but at our own pace. Good value for money and a pleasure to meet Bill

We had a delightful trip with Bill to the fall and pool at the Achla stream. Bill was everywhere, always ready to help, explain and answer questions. He even was happy to show us things that were not included in the official tour plan. The walk itself is perfect. Not too short, not too long, and full of wonderful sights. Highly recommended!
We booked an apartment, rented a car and did a tour with them. Very pleasant experiences with a humane touch. They solved all of our issues, including when the ferry on our way back was cancelled due to winds, thanks to them we could manage to go back in what would have otherwise been a very stressful situation

I took 2 of their tours, and had a great experience both times. Explore Andros is a well-run organization with terrific guides, and a lot of personal attention paid to their guests. I stayed at the Archontiko Eleni Hotel, which I found and booked separately but which is also part of Explore Andros. The hotel was lovely and the staff were very warm and helpful. I took the River Trekking tour, which was a lot of fun. I highly recommend it. I also took the monastery and wine-tasting tour, very enjoyable. I had no idea grapes could grow on the ground!

Authentic – Adventurous – Unforgettable Fantastic experience! We did a river trekking with Vasilis, a knowledgeable and caring guide who took us through trails we would never have managed on our own. Even with my knee injury I felt safe and comfortable the whole way. Pick-up and drop-off directly from our hotel, with water and snacks included, all at a very fair price. Vasilis is not only a great guide but also an impressive driver, navigating remote and challenging roads most people would never attempt. He is deeply respectful of nature, sharing stories and insights about Andros and Greek culture along the way. His passion for what he does and for the island is truly inspiring. The trail itself is fresh, beautiful and leads to a hidden, almost secret natural pool where you can swim and jump into the water — absolutely unforgettable. They even picked us up directly from our hotel, which made everything easy and stress-free. Our guide, Vasilis, was fantastic — he showed us around with genuine enthusiasm, shared interesting facts about the area, and helped us during the more adventurous parts of the walk, including jumping at the waterfall! The waterfall itself was stunning and definitely worth the visit. Even though their website is clear and informative, what really stood out was how available and responsive they were in person. Wij hebben genoten bij Anemomiloi. We verbleven in de studio's op 3 minuten lopen. En die waren echt heel mooi. Schitterend uitzicht en ruime kamers. Het ontbijt was heerlijk, en het zwembad heel fijn. We waren wat vroeg bij aankomst en werden heel vriendelijk ontvangen en kregen zelfs nog ontbijt aangeboden. Je voelt je echt welkom. Het stadje Chora is erg leuk, met veel lekkere restaurantjes en keertje winkeltjes. En je kan kiezen tussen twee stranden. Echt een aanrader om hier te verblijven!

Mooie trekking naar een waterval. De wandeling zelf is goed te doen, met uitdagende onderdelen (wat het juist leuk maakt). Onze gids Vasilis vertelde veel over het eiland, het gebied en de rivier beding waar we liepen. De groep was klein, het vervoer top. Zelfs nog een stop gehad in het klooster, ook heel bijzonder om te zien. Echt een aanrader, we hadden dit niet willen missen!

We had a wonderful relaxed and peaceful tour. Bill was absolutely awesome- he was very knowledgeable and told us lots about the surrounding area as well as the historical castles, churches etc. The trek itself was nice and easy for the most part, with only a few parts where you have to climb over rocks. It’s gorgeous scenery all around and the waterfall and lake were breathtaking. It was amazing to be in the water as it was so clear and although cold, you get used to it. An amazing natural wonder! We usually like to find our own way but we were told it’s best to go with a guide and it is definitely worth booking the tour as the path is not clear and you could get lost multiple times in a short space of time. The walk itself is only around 30 minutes from where you park to the waterfall itself, so it’s definitely something you can do even if you’re not avid hikers. All in all this whole tour was great and was made exceptional by the guide Bill. He brought along water and snacks for us, made sure that we were ok and happy and comfortable throughout. We highly recommend this tour and you won’t regret it!

2 very nice gentlemen, Bill and Adam, assisted me and my family with rock climbing in a very reassuring way. It was an amazing experience. Not only that, they also teached us a lot we didn’t know about Andros and showed us some very nice sights. Nice hotel with a small swimming pool in the capital of the Andros. Great place to discover the east part of the island. Breakfasts were good. The rooms are clean and big. Parking is available but. Be aware that reaching the property involves navigating narrow and steep roads.

We loved Bill! He was an excellent tour guide. The river trek was perfect and a great way to get out of the heat as the whole trail was shaded. The waterfall at the end was gorgeous.

We had an amazing experience with Explore Andros on their river trekking tour! The hike took us along a beautiful river for about five kilometers, surrounded by stunning nature. The highlight was reaching a natural pool at the end, where we could jump in from a swing — the water was cold but so refreshing and totally worth it! A special shoutout to Bill, our guide, who was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole adventure feel fun and safe. This was one of the best activities we did on Andros — highly recommended if you’re looking for a bit of adventure and a unique way to explore the island! 🙏🏼

Super cosy, friendly & familiar Boutique Hotel. We stayed there in the preseason and although Andros is still kind of sleeping this is the perfect hideaway. The rooms are very nice furnished, espacially in details and Dekoration. Also everything was very clean and well prepared. Nina & George have been extraordinary hosts, from the first minute we felt like members of the family. Definetely not the last trip to Anemomiloi! Thanks Guys, keep it in this style 👍🏽🫶🏼
Excellent: the staff are friendly, attentive and helpful; the rooms are spacious enough with a decent amount of storage; and it is a short ( seven minute) stroll to the town centre and restaurants. Breakfast, prepared by Solila is good and ample - she bakes several pies and cakes every day. We think the hotel is a conversion from apartments but this has been done thoughtfully and works well - and as a bonus one gets a little kitchenette area in the room. The breakfast room can get a little crowded if the weather is unkind - but that does not happen very often on a Greek island outside winter! We would happily stay there again were we to revisit Andros. Thank you Nina, Panayiota, Faviola and Solila for a lovely stay.
The half day Rock Climbing adventure was an amazing experience! I met my guide, Adam, in the morning and I got transferred to the climbing site. I learned the techniques and skills involved and I was ready to start climbing after that. There are a variety of routes to choose. The climbing site Vouni is situated in the South of Andros with the beautiful limestone cliffs and 7 routes on the climbing area (8-12m). From here, you’ll have a stunning view of the surrounding area and to the sea. The best team to explore the beautiful island of Andros. Thank you Explore Andros. Looking forward to our next meeting.

Fantastic tour, learned so much about the area around Chora by visiting tiny villages, springs, a waterfall, a monastery and caves. All in one day! Flexible programme for the day and saw some beautiful historic areas, not rushed at all. The roads up into the hills gave us brilliant views down over Chora. Corina was a fabulous guide , very informative pointing out fauna and flora as we trekked. She led at a pace that was easily manageable for our group of 4 , informing us of foot and hand placement on more difficult areas. The highlight was reaching the waterfall and swimming in the crystal clear water . Thank you Corina for making it the most memorable trip during our amazing stay in Andros .
It was an amazing hike! She picked us up at a local shop and gave us a lot of information during the tour about Tinos en Greece. The hike is duable in the warmer months, there is a lot of shadow in the forest. You have enough time to swim and dive at the waterfall. The water is lovely on a hot day! Really recommend it!

Awesome lunch adventure with Christos. He gave us a perfect intro to the island and the farming. As young adults with little know on farming and cooking was an awesome introduction to the local food and taste of fresh food and wine. Would highly recommend. Completed our stay on the island taking away a lot of info and conversation with Christos.
A fantastic half day guided walk organised by Fotis. We got excellent advice on walk selection (the weather was hot), the pick-up was flawless and our guides were super friendly and knowledgeable. The walk from the Apikia to Stenies, taking in Apikia waterfall, was great. We ended up on the beach for drink and a wonderful swim. Great value for money and highly recommended!
Perfect way to end our short time in Greece. Corina drove us around to hard to reach sights on Andros. We finished the day with a swim at a beach tucked away behind a cliff. Corina was chill and we spoke about life, politics, art, food, and even plants, for many hours. The tour never felt forced or rushed. If you choose this tour be sure to let your guide know your interests. They will make sure it's a great day.

My sister, my parents and I booked a half day tour through Andros. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about Andros and Greek history. She was extremely patient and accommodating with us and my elderly parents. She took us through and around Chora, pointing out beautiful sites on the way. She then went above any expectation I had set for the tour. She took us to the remote village were she helped us find my grandfather's house and relatives that were still living there. The island is absolutely beautiful and the tour was something no one will ever forget!!! I would highly recommend Explore Andros!
This was our first trip to Andros and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay/activities with Explore Andros. This is a family run local business and they are really passionate about what they do. Christos took us on the tour of the island and it felt so personal and not at all touristy. We loved eating at their Juice bar "Fresco" and enjoyed a comfortable stay at one of their properties. My kids loved petting the resident dog Sheldon. I went back and forth with the activities (due to weather) and Christos was very patient and understanding. At the last minute, he was able to arrange the rock climbing excursion with Adam so the kids wouldn't be disappointed. Adam is such an experienced climber and was so good with kids - giving them tips and encouraging them to climb higher. Christos and his entire team really care about their customers and provide the highest level of service. They take pride in doing their job and showing everything that Andros has to offer.

We spent a full day with the Explore Andros team river trekking and we enjoyed the guided tour tremendously. Got to see hidden gems of the island. We also used their services to get back and forth from where we were staying which was rather remote. Christos and the team were attentive and pleasant. We highly recommend.

This boat trip was a great last-minute addition to our Andros trip. We found the advertisement posted on a shop window, and after calling the phone number listed on the poster, we were immediately able to schedule our trip. Although we had done some beach-hopping on our own beforehand, the boat transported us to beaches that we could not have reached otherwise, all while enjoying the view of Andros from the ocean. The captain was extremely kind and accommodating, and we were able to curate our own experience given his flexibility in time and the beaches we visited. At any point during the trip, we could let him know that we wanted to stop for a dive, and he would lower the anchor (and offer a refreshment!). Although we traveled as a couple, he informed us that his boat could accommodate up to 10 people, and that smaller boats would also take passengers fishing. Overall, this trip was a fantastic way to explore more of Andros’ crystal clear waters, and enjoy a new perspective of the island with its local company.
Guide Argie picked us up at the pension for a private tour. We walked partly route 6 of the Andros Route. Until we came to the river. The guide is very experienced and helped us climbing the rocks and roots to cross the river. Great fun! We were rewarded with a beautiful view of the Gerolimni waterfall. We even saw a few snakes. If you are in normal condition / medium sportive you will take about 2,5 hrs of hiking total (roundtrip). He will take you back by car to your hotel again.

We had a wonderful vacation with Explore Andros. We stayed at one of the homes they manage-a beautiful property with an amazing sea-view. We took a package where they took us every day for a different trip to explore the island including monastery, hiking (easy walks that the children could enjoy) sunset yoga, boat trip in a local fishing boat visits to livestock farms and great food!
They are the warmest kindest and carrying hosts. They took care of al we needed with a lot of interesting information about this beautiful island and its population. -I highly recommend their services!

My daughter and I had a fantastic tour of Chora and some surrounding towns and sights. Christos is very knowledgeable of the area and a fun and accommodating guide. You get an insider's tour of authentic life on the island, including some yummy treats. I wish I had more time to do some of the other tours...next year!

The monasteries in Andros are very beautiful, special, oases of tranquility and spiritual recovery. We were in other monastic settlements, more famous on the territory of Greece, but the atmosphere of closeness, of friendship with which we were greeted at Panachrandou I did not see anywhere. This island has many interesting things to visit, including on mountain paths in a special landscape, possibilities of entertainment about which nothing is written in many travel guides. We returned this year with great pleasure, and we were guided by Explore Andros. It was the best choice, because we always felt safe, we came across nice people and good professionals.

After talking to Christos, who was really nice , we booked a 3h fishing boat trip with Michalis, and it was a fantastic experience ! The Boat had nice shaded space, Michalis has a contagious smile and we had Greek music on board and local snacks : perfect !

My daughter and her friend absolutely loved the walk on horseback through the lovely nature of Andros countryside unbeaten paths. The staff was very kind and careful to make this experience unforgettable and safe for them. We absolutely suggest it and it’s beauty during the sunset hours!
I can’t say enough good things about Christos and his family. Andros is an incredibly relaxing place. It isn’t a party site like some Greek Islands but good for people looking for fewer crowds, authentic Greek culture, and great experiences. While staying at the Anemomioli Andros, which is associated with the same folks, we availed ourselves of multiple of their available activities. We took the River trek up to a waterfall which was enormous fun. Our guide Argi was knowledgeable and very attentive to our desired level of difficulty. At the end we enjoyed swimming below a waterfall and even jumped in from a rope swing above. We did the horseback riding, which was a simple trail ride through some fields and along a beach - again kind of customized to what we were looking for. We did a cooking experience, which in our case was a visit to a nice home in a village where a nice lady made a delicious fresh meal of things mostly growing in her garden along with the meat they raise (and we helped).
This company is extremely flexible and customer focused. We wanted to go kayaking time at a beach and receive massages on relatively short notice, but they were able to bring both experiences together. The people we interacted with were all very hospitable and ready to adapt to what we were interested in as a family. There are a lot of outdoor experiences available on Andros - it was tough to choose just a few. I highly recommend this group to help make it happen.
Amazing walk through the river with the most rewarding swim in the lake! Big thanks to our guide Argiris who made it such a special experience adjusting the route to each one of us!
We chose a private fishing trip with a local fisherman "Michalis" on a traditional fishing boat. After a short scenic tour of the castle and lighthouse of Chora we headed for Theoskepastou (a small islet with a church perched on a cliff) where we helped raise his nets (which he had laid the night before) catching a variety of local fish. The trip is great for children who enjoyed being fisherman for the day and the views are amazing reaching some remote places not accesible by road. This is meant to be a truly authentic experience so don't expect luxury. The boat is basic but comfortable and shaded...it is a fishing boat after all! To top it all off we even took a dip at Piso Gialia before heading back to Chora in time for lunch....fish anyone?
We stays at the Anemomilio hotel in Andros for 6 nights with our 2 kids. A lovely Authentic greek hotel with a beautiful pool right in the center of town.

Their warm welcome and hospitality was beyond expected.
They went out of their way for us in everything and they know and love the island. They told us where to go and what to do, where to eat everyday and helped me plan a birthday for my husband
I asked Christos where we can find Lokomades on the island and he left us a surprise when we returned one evening - his lovely wife made some for us
We felt at home and had a great experience thanks to all of them!!

We went on two sightseeing tours and one cooking class with Christos from Explore Andros. We had the opportunity to visit places and special spots you don't find easy when exploring on your own and meeting locals.
Christos is very passionate about his island and explains everything with great enthousiasm and pleasure what makes the experience even more worthwhile.
The cooking class with Despina and the rest of the group was absolutely wonderful. We learned how the prepare local dishes and enjoyed this with the group in the shadow of an olive tree overlooking a valley with a view on the sea.
Absolutely a highlight.

It's definitely worth your time and money. Cooking classes offer you the opportunity to help in preparing local dishes with the help of local women, learn local recipes and experience the hospitality of Andros -just like a local!
I would highly recommend Peter and his team. They were so accommodating and looked after us so well. We were a group of six and they tailored the tour specifically for us. If you want to see the best of this island then Explore Andros is the way to go.
We met Christos very spontaneously in Chora where he provided us with a lot of information on possible hikes for the next day. He is the nicest person and really tried to give us as many options as possible.
The next day we were picked up at our hotel before we started our hike down to the beach. It was great. The nature is beautiful and we received a lot of information about the flora and the history of the island. We ended the trip at the beach, just like we requested it. All in all a great experience.
We came into town without a real plan to do some searching for our family tree. We contacted the front desk at our hotel and they set us up with Angela Strati from Explore Andros. She was so attentive to our needs and worked tirelessly to help us search. She also took us to the Monastery and the nature walk to the Love bridge. She is a native of Andros and spoke English very well so easy to understand. We really appreciated all of her help and Explore Andros.
The island of Andros is full of beauty and you need to get out on the trails to appreciate the magnitude of this. Explore Andros is run by good people, very good people! We recommend any of their outings. You will not be disappointed.
The trekking along the river was amazing and diving from the rocks a unique and unforgettable experience for our children. A BIG thank you to Alex, our guide who put up with us.
My family and I recently went on a full day sightseeing tour of Andros Island. We visited the capital, Chora, an archaeological museum, a beautiful monastery, a waterfall, and so much more! Our tour guide, Angeliki, was extremely knowledgeable and went out of her way to provide us with a customized and personal experience. We had an amazing time and I would highly recommend Explore Andros tour company for any excursion. When I spoke to the head of the company, Peter, he responded promptly to all my questions and was flexible to my requests. Andros Island is so beautiful and this tour provided us with an informative and personal experience not to be missed.

Peter and Ángela picked us up from our hotel off the beaten track along a dirt road! Ángela was fabulous. She has all the knowledge about the island. She was never rushed. We opted for the full day tour and it was everything we wished for. Peter was patient with all our questions before we booked. We covered the main towns on the island. It was very good value for money. We loved every minute.
Our travel group of 8 came to Andros for a day to find the family home and hopefully distant relatives of one of us, whose mother was from Andros. By luck we chose you. Our tour guide was a wealth of Greek history and drove us to the monastery where we met an older woman who by luck was a distant relative of our Greek companion! Our tour guide not only translated for us but asked numerous questions of her to help us find several family homes! He was so kind and has continued to stay in contact with our companion to find more family members on Andros. We will never forget this trip and our guide - a real gem!
The hotel staff at the Micra Anglia recommended Explore Andros as the go to Eco-Tourism provider on the island. It was a great tip. My guide, Thanasis, was a local that had grown up on Andros and was very familiar with the flora, fauna, and birds. He easily found my target birds Eleonora's Falcon and Bonelli's eagle (on a nest with a hatchling). He was prompt, courteous, and it was a real treat to have him drive me to the hard to get to places in his 4X4 SUV. Beaches, mountain-tops, and Bee-eaters were destination points. The all-day birding trip was a super value on top of everything else. The manager of Explore Andros, Petros, makes sure that the company gives back to conservation programs that help to preserve the environment. You can't go wrong booking an activity with this company.
The activity was great, climbing up and rappelling down the side of the mountain next to the gorgeous waterfall was an experience to never forget. The view over Andros from the top of the waterfall is amazing. It is not a difficult route, so even smaller children should be able to do this activity without a problem.
The guys running Explore Andros are very helpful, friendly and professional. They really want to make your stay in Andros as enjoyable as possible.

We had a wonderful time with the Explore Andros team. We were very lucky with our guide - Bill l, he is very friendly and positive person, he shared a wealth of information about the island and told us about island hidden gems. We trekked along the river to the waterfall and even went for a swim. Time passed so quickly, Andros is worth visiting more than once, especially with Explore Andros
We had a fantastic day trekking along the river which culminated in swimming in a beautiful remote pool at the base of a waterfall and jumping off the rocks. Our guide Bill was lovely, very knowledgeable and really made the experience special. Our children (age 12 and 14) say it’s one of the best things they’ve ever done! Totally recommend.
